DNV launches technical standards for floating solar
Norway-headquartered technical and safety expert DNV has published two new standards for the design and maintenance of floating solar PV (FPV) systems.
The new standards – DNV‑ST‑C108 and DNV‑ST‑E309 – provide a “comprehensive and aligned framework for the design, analysis, operation and risk management of FPV systems across their full life cycle, from component to system level,” DNV claimed.

According to Announcement No. 2 of 2026 issued by the Ministry of Finance and the State Taxation Administration on January 9th, starting April 1st this year, the VAT export tax rebate rate for 249 PV products, including solar cells, modules, and doped silicon wafers, will be reduced from 9% to 0%. The rebate rate for battery products will be cancelled in two phases: first reduced to 6%, and then completely cancelled from January 1st, 2027, allowing companies time to adapt.
